Update on goals for 2009

So, do you remember my list of goals (not resolutions) for 2009? I thought I would update you on how I'm doing. Here is the list (for all of you out there reading this, what maybe 2 people?!)
1. Be a better wife, mother, sister, friend, nurse and daughter/sister in-law. That sounds so broad and probably a little cliche - relationships take work, time and effort. I plan to put forth more effort, most especially in prayer for each person with whom I am in a relationship.
2. Spend less money.
3. Eat less and exercise more.
4. Make sure I enjoy my children, each minute, every day.
5. Spend a lot of time and prayer on a big decision for our family...yes...I am talking about having another baby... I want this to be God's will though and not mine.

I'm going to start with 2 and 3.
2. I am doing pretty well with spending less money. I am using coupons like crazy. We are eating out only 1 night a week (for the most part) and less lunches out. So far so good. Birthday parties always cost a lot but I even found good deals for that this year...
3. I have been to the gym at least 2 days every week (3 last week) and I am eating less.
4. I'm doing this, too. I just can't believe they are 8 and soon to be 4. Blows my mind.
Now for the biggie... #1. Little did I know what God had in mind when I set this goal made this commitment. First of all let me say that I have learned to be faithful in prayer in the last month or so more than ever. Let me just tell you...
1. I've been praying for my dad for awhile now. Miscelaneous things have occured and I've always witnessed my parents faith but let me tell you it has been recently tested. And, God is answering prayers!
2. A dear friend, who I have a lot of love and respect for had a recurrence of breast cancer. At 24 she had a lumpectomy well for 16 years she has been cancer free but in December it was discovered that it had returned. Tuesday she had a double mastectomy and hysterectomy. She is a great source of inspriration.
3. We are praying for couple in my Sunday School class who are having difficulties in their marriage. Praying for forgiveness and reconciliation.
4. A dear friend of our family had her 4th baby Tuesday. A little boy named Aaron. It was discovered Thursday night that he has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (basicly the left side of his heart did not form). He and his mom, Jennifer were medivaced to MUSC, in Charleston yesterday. He is a very sick little baby but they feel they can help him. I have seen amazing things done at that place and I have faith that the Lord's will be done. Prayer does work.

Please continue to pray for each of these request listed above. It will make a difference in your life.
